Whatever the circumstances may be, pasture demand is in short supply. Throughout the state, cattle producers are impacted by drought, wildfire, and competition for high-value irrigation ground to provide ample pasture for their livestock herds.
This webpage is meant to serve as an exchange amongst farmers who may wish to plant annual cover crop for grazing, and cattle producers who are int he market for renting pasture. This relationship can be mutually beneficial for both the landowner and cattleman.
Cover crops can provide many soil benefits while producing an additional source of income for the operation. Please see the resource links below:
If you are interested in planting cover crops for grazing, or simply wish to graze volunteer crops, crop aftermath, winter wheat, or any pasture you are not utilizing, you can sign up here to be a part of a confidential database available only to livestock producers who have expressed interest in leasing seasonal grazing ground.
Likewise, cattle producers who are interested in leasing grazing ground can sign up here to be included on a list of contacts for landowners with potential for available forage.
